Pluto and My Parents
Yesterday, like most weekends, we made a trip to the parents house for dinner and took Pluto along with us. It's a good time for us because we get to visit with my parents, and normally Taylor and his Katie, and have some good food. For Pluto, we realized yesterday, it's like dog heaven.
Together, my dad and I probably threw the ball for a total of an hour combined. Each time, we'd throw the ball until Pluto could hardly bring the ball back and drop it in our hands. He's never happier than when he's chasing a ball or a squirrel (and he got to chase a few of those yesterday too). He also got to chew on plush toys (never the case at home), got pork chop scraps right from the grill, and had a real bone to sharpen his teeth on.
When we left last night, we got his leash and pinch collar together and started to round up our stuff. Normally, he jumps and whines and behaves like a crazy dog when his leash is involved, but last night he didn't really jump at all. It was like he knew he would have to leave... so he put up with me putting his leash on again, but wasn't excited about it. When we walked out to the car, he wouldn't jump in the back of the car. I had to push him to get him to get into the car... and we realized that he didn't want to go. On our way out of the driveway, he was looking back at the house with a sad look. That's when we put it together, that he was leaving dog heaven and he was sad about it.
While we were over there yesterday, we looked at the pictures we took the week before on my parents camera. I wanted to post a video my boy, playing with his soccer ball (video from flickr).
