New Entry Time!!!

The month of June has been a pretty crazy month for Katie and I, as evidenced by the amount of posting I did this month (this is #1).

A few notable things occured this month.

First, Sami B and Rosa had a new baby girl. So, congratulations to them on that. I know Sami's gotta be terrified.

Secondly, Katie and I have pretty much decided on a new house in north bossier. It's a new subdivision where we'll be able to pick a lot, a floor plan and most of the colors and styles used throughout the house. It's a small house, but that's all we really need. As far as buying new versus buying a used house... it's a little bit of a premium, but we think it's fair considering the relative prices of houses in shreveport and bossier.

Lastly, Katie has decided to put off her internship class until the fall, delaying her finishing with school entirely until February. She was too stressed out with finding a place in shreveport to get all her internship hours and wouldn't have been working with the type of people that she wants to counsel... so, we talked about it and decided it wasn't that big of a deal to delay it a quarter, though we did lose the money for this quarter's tuition. I'd rather have Katie freed up for the summer to find a better position in the fall that would benefit her and the people she'd be counseling.

Those are pretty much the biggest happenings for the month. In the coming weeks, I'm going to talk to a few lenders about getting a loan for the house and will look to start the house building process shortly after.

For tonight, I'm hoping to dig into a little pizza with Katie and her sister Emma, who's staying with us for a few days.
