Knowledge, missed because I'm a southerner

Sometimes I miss being privy to certain knowledge that may be common to people of other areas of this country, or other countries for that matter.

For instance, today I ran across an article stating that the winter speed limit changes are going into effect this week. I guess that it makes sense that with the amount of snow and ice some people get, that they should reduce the speed limits. It just never occured to me that this happened.
