I went out yesterday and voted for the president, the Louisiana congressional races and the amendments to the state constitution.
After getting all my errands run yesterday, I came home to watch the election returns. To my surprise, everyone was projecting a Kerry win early on, solely because of the high voter turn out. Traditionally, when voter turn out is so high, it's bad news for the incumbent, in this case GWBush.
However, as the night progressed, more and more states were being called for Bush, and then disaster struck for the Kerry campaign when Florida fell for Bush. This meant that Ohio had to fall to Kerry, otherwise Kerry would have to carry all the remaining states to merely tie Bush for a total of 269 electoral votes.
After a night of nail biting and suspense, I hit the sack expecting to have a clear idea of who won Ohio, and who the next president would be. Here it is, Nov. 3rd, and once again noone knows for sure what's going to go on. The consensus is that GWBush has won Ohio, and a few other key states, so if Kerry can't take Ohio, he loses.
Regardless of who wins I've decided to give my support to the winner. It doesn't matter to which party the president belongs. I'm going to support the winner of this election as the leader of my country.
